Kaplan Fox’s practice in Real Estate and Trusts & Estates, and General Business is a continuation of our firm’s original practice, established nearly 50 years ago. Many of the families we serve as clients have used our services for generations, and have come to rely on the exceptional level of personal attention we give to each client matter.

In our Real Estate practice, we frequently represent the interests of individuals, both in the United States and abroad, who purchase, sell, develop and finance real estate in the United States. While we are adept at handling any real estate transaction efficiently and effectively, our services often extend far beyond what is typically expected from a law firm. We can, for example, assist clients in locating and negotiating with architects and designers, and provide advice about making alterations to real estate while staying within the bounds of building bylaws and historic preservation laws.

Our Trusts and Estates practice offers a full complement of estate planning services to facilitate the orderly transition of assets. Our hands-on approach and attention to detail ensure that our experienced attorneys will deliver a level of service not found elsewhere. In addition, we have developed a specialty in handling the often-complex estates of artists, writers, designers, musicians and producers. In the same vein, we can provide sound advice on the sale or auction of art and the disposition of other artistic property.

We have developed another specialty representing various types of businesses in a variety of legal areas. For example, we have represented publishers in the negotiation of publishing contracts and young physicians interested in setting up practice, by handling practice purchases and drafting partnership agreements.
