Kaplan Fox & Kilsheimer LLP (www.kaplanfox.com) announces a $7.833 million settlement subject to court approval with Emirates in In re: Air Cargo Shipping Services Antitrust Litigation, 06-MD-1775 (JG) (VVP), a multi-district litigation pending in the Eastern District of New York.
To date, plaintiffs have entered into settlements with 15 defendant groups totaling $462.2 million, of which settlements with nine defendant groups for $278.4 million have been granted final approval by the court and settlements with five defendant groups have been granted preliminary approval by the court.
This settlement and four other recent settlements with Malaysia Airlines, South African Airways, Saudi Arabian Airlines and Thai Airways, totaling more than $30 million, have been with defendants that have not pled guilty to violations of the antitrust laws in the United States. This litigation is still pending against 13 defendant groups.
