NEW YORK, NY – December 1, 2017 – A class action has been filed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York against online brokerage firm Interactive Brokers, LLC, on behalf of investors who held certain portfolio margin accounts within the past six years. The investors allege that Interactive Brokers violated Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (“FINRA”) rules and its own customer agreements in administering client portfolio margin accounts.

In conjunction with the Israel Directors Union (the "IDU"), Kaplan Fox sponsored a cybersecurity and data privacy conference for Israeli companies, law firms, VC funds and insurance companies doing business in the United States.  Topics included data privacy best practices, importance of state laws, corporate governance, data breach response preparation, the importance of cyber insurance, and cultural attitudes.  More than 125 people attended.

On March 27, 2017, District Judge John G. Koeltl of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York upheld securities fraud claims against Centrais Elétricas Brasileiras S.A. (“Eletrobras”) and certain of its executive officers on behalf of investors in the Company’s American depositary shares and bonds.

San Francisco, CA - Kaplan Fox & Kilsheimer LLP (www.kaplanfox.com) filed a federal class action law suit against Compass Group USA, Inc. (“Compass Group” or the “Company”), on behalf of all employees who worked as route and delivery drivers in California since June 20, 2013. The lawsuit alleges that Compass Group failed to comply with the mandates of the California Labor Code.  As a result, Plaintiffs allege that Compass Group has underpaid its workers and denied them meal and rest breaks required by law.
